Teaching Current Affairs 2026

Teaching exams do not test current affairs. The CTET-September 2026 Information Bulletin lists five areas in each paper: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II, plus Mathematics and Environmental Studies in Paper I, or Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science in Paper II. There is no general awareness section and no question on recent events. This page is here for other reasons, and they are GK24's guidance, not part of the bulletin. First, a teaching aspirant should follow education-policy news: teacher eligibility, schools, examinations, scholarships and schemes for students. Second, a TET is only an eligibility test. The recruitment that follows is separate, and if it has a general awareness part or an interview, recent events matter there. Check that recruitment's own notification for its pattern. Third, a teacher of Classes I to VIII teaches children about the environment, health, government and science, and recent examples make those lessons concrete. GK24 writes each daily item in English and Hindi from an official release and dates it to the day of the announcement. With CTET's 22nd edition on 12 and 13 December 2026, spend most of your time on the NCERT textbooks, pedagogy and the languages, and give these items about ten minutes a day.
