SSC CGL Current Affairs 2026

Current affairs is a fixed part of General Awareness in SSC CGL. The CGL 2026 notice says the section tests knowledge of current events along with everyday science, History, Culture, Geography, the Economic Scene, General Policy and Scientific Research. In Tier-I that means roughly 5 to 8 of the 25 General Awareness questions, and in Tier-II Paper-I a similar share of the 25 questions worth 3 marks each. SSC picks events from the 6 to 12 months before the exam: national and international awards, sports tournaments and winners, appointments to constitutional and statutory offices, summits and their venues, government schemes and their ministries, reports and indices, books and authors, and defence exercises. The question usually joins the event to a static fact, such as the state of a new national park or the article under which an office is created.
