School students alone collected 58.79 lakh e-waste items from 2.85 lakh schools, far above a target of 5 lakh, with the Department of School Education and Literacy holding a nationwide drive on 28 October.

Whole-of-government reach

A new feature was the One-Day Event: 27 ministries and departments ran cleanliness and waste drives across 2,40,156 field offices on a set day. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, for one, disposed of 1,63,213 kg of scrap. All figures are provisional until final validation.
