SSC MTS Current Affairs 2026

Current affairs is part of the General Awareness section of SSC MTS, which the 2025 notice describes as Social Studies, General Science and Environmental Studies up to the 10th Standard. General Awareness has 25 questions for 75 marks in Session-II, the session that decides merit, with 1 mark cut for each wrong answer, and its marks are the first tie-breaker between candidates with equal Session-II totals. In practice a few questions in every shift come from the events of the year before the exam: national and international awards, sports tournaments and winners, appointments to high offices, government schemes and the ministry that runs them, summits and their venues, books and authors, days and themes, and defence exercises. SSC usually ties the event to a fact that can be revised, such as the state a new project belongs to or the year a scheme began.
