UPSC Civil Services Current Affairs 2026

Current affairs is the first line of the General Studies Paper-I syllabus in the UPSC CSE notice, "current events of national and international importance", and in practice it runs through the whole paper. The Commission rarely asks who won an award or where a summit was held; it takes an event of the last 12 to 18 months and asks the static fact behind it, such as the features of a wetland that just became a Ramsar site, the article a Supreme Court judgment turned on, the ministry and target of a scheme in the news, or the organisation that published a report. The same events return in the Main Examination's General Studies papers as analytical questions and in the Interview as conversation. This page carries GK24's daily current affairs written for UPSC from official releases of the Government of India, in English and Hindi, dated by the day of release and tagged to the topic each item belongs to, so that reading the news and revising the syllabus become one habit.
