MY Bharat Starts Points, Rewards and Recognition Mechanism
Mera Yuva Bharat has begun a Points, Rewards and Recognition mechanism that rewards young volunteers at milestones running from 1,000 points to 1,00,000 points.

Why in News
On 6 October 2026 the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced that Mera Yuva Bharat is operationalising a Points, Rewards and Recognition Mechanism on its portal to reward sustained participation by young people in volunteering and nation building.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, working through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), has set in motion a Points, Rewards and Recognition (PRR) Mechanism on the MY Bharat Portal. Its purpose is to count and reward the time young people give to volunteering, to experiential learning and to other work of nation building, so that steady participation earns something more than a thank-you.
What the minister said
Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya described Yuva Shakti as the strength of a developed India, and said the mechanism turns the participation of the young into recognition, opportunity and leadership. The initiative is tied to the idea of Samarth Yuva, Viksit Bharat.
How the ladder is built
Points gather on the portal as a young person takes part in activities. Each milestone unlocks a different reward, and the rewards grow as the count rises.
| Points | What the achiever gets |
| 1,000 | A formal MY Bharat Letter of Recognition signed by the Director, MY Bharat Division |
| 2,500 | Recognition on the official MY Bharat social media handles, with consent |
| 5,000 | A place in the MY Bharat Digital Hall of Fame on the portal |
| 7,500 | The hardbound book Modi@20 |
| 10,000 | A signed copy of The Golden Road by William Dalrymple |
| 20,000 | A signed copy of Treasures of India: From Antiquity to Modernity by DK |
The two highest rungs
At 50,000 points an eligible young person gets to meet the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports during a coming edition of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) or a comparable youth event. At the top rung of 1,00,000 points the meeting is with the Union Minister himself, again at a VBYLD edition. Names at both these levels are drawn from the portal and verified by MY Bharat Headquarters. Felicitation at these two milestones is proposed to begin in October 2027.
Points a paper setter will pick
- PRR stands for Points, Rewards and Recognition, and the portal is MY Bharat.
- The Letter of Recognition comes at 1,000 points, the Digital Hall of Fame at 5,000.
- The book Modi@20 is given at 7,500 points.
- The highest proposed milestone is 1,00,000 points.

Remember the full form of PRR, the portal and the ministry behind it, the minister who announced it, the reward at each milestone from 1,000 to 1,00,000 points, the two books and their authors, the name of the dialogue at which the top achievers are to be met, and the year from which felicitation at the two highest milestones is proposed to start.
Practice Questions
Under the MY Bharat PRR Mechanism, at how many points does a young person get a place in the MY Bharat Digital Hall of Fame?
- A.1,000
- B.2,500
- C.5,000
- D.7,500
Show answer
Correct answer: C. 5,000
Explanation
The correct answer is 5,000. At that count the portal carries the achiever in a dedicated Digital Hall of Fame, showing the name, the MY Bharat identity number, a photograph and a short profile taken from the public profile. Option A is wrong because the first milestone brings a formal Letter of Recognition signed by the Director of the MY Bharat Division, not a place in the Hall of Fame. Option B is wrong because that step brings recognition on the official social media handles, and only with the consent of the young person concerned, since a name and photograph are published. Option D is wrong because that milestone carries a hardbound book rather than any form of listing on the portal. The ladder is best learnt in order, letter first, then social media, then the Hall of Fame, then books, then meetings with ministers.
Which book, written by William Dalrymple, is given to youth reaching the 10,000-point milestone?
- A.The Golden Road
- B.Treasures of India
- C.Modi@20
- D.The Anarchy
Show answer
Correct answer: A. The Golden Road
Explanation
The correct answer is The Golden Road, whose full title runs The Golden Road: How Ancient India Transformed the World. The copy handed over is hardbound and carries the signature of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports. Option B is wrong because Treasures of India: From Antiquity to Modernity is credited to DK and belongs to a higher milestone, where the signature is that of the Union Minister. Option C is wrong because Modi@20 sits a step lower on the ladder and is given unsigned. Option D names another title by the same author, but it has no place in this scheme and is offered to catch a candidate who recognises the writer without reading the title. Questions on books and authors are frequent, so pair each title with its author, its milestone and the minister who signs it.
The PRR Mechanism of MY Bharat is run by which ministry?
- A.Ministry of Education
- B.Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
- C.Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
- D.Ministry of Culture
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
Explanation
The correct answer is the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, which runs the mechanism through Mera Yuva Bharat, its platform for engaging young people. The Union Minister of that ministry, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, announced it with the remark that Yuva Shakti is the strength of a developed India. Option A is wrong because, although schools and colleges are where many volunteers come from, the Ministry of Education does not run this portal. Option C is wrong because skill development is a separate ministry with its own programmes, and the points here are earned through volunteering and civic engagement rather than through training courses. Option D is wrong because the Ministry of Culture has no role in the mechanism. Link the ministry, the portal and the dialogue called VBYLD together while revising.
