Rajasthan Previous Year GK Questions

Previous-year questions show what RPSC and RSSB actually ask, which a broad syllabus cannot. They reveal the weight of each area, the level of detail expected in history, polity, geography, economy and science, and how current affairs are framed, often as a fact tied to a recent event or scheme. Many questions repeat in substance: the same constitutional articles, dynasties, rivers, national parks and schemes return with new options. This page collects previous-year questions on national GK and current affairs, in English and Hindi, each with the correct answer, a short explanation and the topic it belongs to, so a question leads you to the GK note that covers it. For the Rajasthan part of the paper, RPSC publishes question papers and answer keys on rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in, and RSSB publishes question papers on rssb.rajasthan.gov.in; use them for Rajasthan history, art, culture, geography and economy, which GK24 does not cover separately. Work through PYQs in three passes: solve a set untimed to learn, solve a set timed to build speed, and revisit your wrong answers a week later. With one-third negative marking in both RAS and CET, PYQs also teach you which questions to leave on the fifth circle.

Q1.General ScienceAsked in: Rajasthan · 09 Sept, 2025Hard

The headlights of a distant car are 1.4 m apart. If the diameter of the pupil of the eye is 3 mm, what is the maximum distance at which the two headlights can be resolved? Consider the headlights as point sources of wavelength 500 nm.

  1. A.3448 m
  2. B.68.96 m
  3. C.34.48 m
  4. D.6896 m
Show answer
Correct answer: D. 6896 m

By the Rayleigh criterion the smallest angle the eye can resolve is 1.22 times the wavelength divided by the diameter of the pupil, that is 1.22 multiplied by 500 nanometres and divided by 3 millimetres, which comes to about 2.03 times ten to the power minus four radian.

Brewster's law is (where the symbol mu stands for the refractive index and i_p for the polarising angle)

  1. A.i_p = 90 degrees
  2. B.mu = tan i_p
  3. C.i_p minus r = tan mu
  4. D.i_p = tan mu
Show answer
Correct answer: B. mu = tan i_p

Brewster found that when unpolarised light falls on a transparent surface at one particular angle of incidence, called the polarising angle, the reflected light is completely plane polarised, and at that angle the refractive index of the surface equals the tangent of the polarising angle.
