RRB JE GK Questions 2026

Static GK makes up most of the General Awareness syllabus of RRB JE, and General Science adds a larger block of its own. CEN 04/2026 lists Indian geography, the culture and history of India including the freedom struggle, Indian Polity and Constitution, the Indian Economy and environmental issues concerning India and the world. In CBT-1 these share 15 questions with current affairs, while General Science, which the CEN defines as Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences up to the 10th Standard CBSE syllabus, has 30 questions of its own. CBT-2 repeats the General Awareness syllabus in 15 questions and adds 15 on Physics and Chemistry, 10 on Basics of Computers and Applications and 10 on Basics of Environment and Pollution Control. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes for RRB JE: Polity, History, Geography, the Economy, Art and Culture, Environment and Ecology, General Science and Computer basics. Each note is a set of short facts and tables in English and Hindi that can be revised in one sitting. Read one topic, solve its quiz and previous-year questions, and return to it a week later. With 15 General Awareness questions spread over eight areas, breadth matters more than depth, while General Science rewards thorough revision of Class 10 concepts.

RRB JE GK Questions with Answers

Q163.Computer AwarenessEasy

Which statement about a class and an object is correct?

  1. A.A class is an instance of an object
  2. B.An object is a blueprint and a class is its instance
  3. C.A class is a blueprint and an object is its instance
  4. D.A class and an object both occupy memory in the same way
Show answer
Correct answer: C. A class is a blueprint and an object is its instance

A class only describes the data members and member functions that its objects will have, while an object is created from the class, occupies memory and holds actual values; one class may have any number of objects.

Q164.Computer AwarenessMedium

In object-oriented programming, the ability of the same function name to work with different sets of parameters is called

  1. A.Inheritance
  2. B.Encapsulation
  3. C.Function overloading
  4. D.Function overriding
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Function overloading

Overloading means defining several functions of the same name in the same class with different numbers or types of parameters, so the compiler decides which one to call; because the decision is taken before the program runs, it is called compile-time or static polymorphism.

Q166.Computer AwarenessEasy

Who developed the C++ programming language?

  1. A.Dennis Ritchie
  2. B.James Gosling
  3. C.Bjarne Stroustrup
  4. D.Guido van Rossum
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Bjarne Stroustrup

Bjarne Stroustrup developed the language at Bell Laboratories, starting it as C with Classes and giving it the name C++ in 1983; it adds classes, inheritance and polymorphism to C while keeping C procedural power, which is why it is called a hybrid language.

Q167.Computer AwarenessMedium

Showing only the essential features of an object to the user while hiding its internal details is known as

  1. A.Abstraction
  2. B.Encapsulation
  3. C.Inheritance
  4. D.Instantiation
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Abstraction

Abstraction presents only what the user needs, such as the accelerator and brake of a car, and keeps the internal working out of sight; in C++ it is obtained through abstract classes with pure virtual functions and in Java through interfaces and abstract classes.

Q168.Computer AwarenessEasy

Wrapping up of data and the functions that operate on that data into a single unit is called

  1. A.Inheritance
  2. B.Encapsulation
  3. C.Overloading
  4. D.Compilation
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Encapsulation

Encapsulation means binding the data members and the member functions that act on them inside one unit, the class, and keeping the data private so that it can be reached only through the methods provided; the standard illustration is a capsule holding the medicine inside it.

Which type of electric motor is most commonly used in modern electric cars?

  1. A.Series wound direct current motor
  2. B.Permanent magnet synchronous motor
  3. C.Single phase shaded pole motor
  4. D.Universal motor
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Permanent magnet synchronous motor

Because the rotor carries permanent magnets instead of windings that must be energised, the motor is compact, light and highly efficient over a wide range of speeds, and it gives the strong torque from rest that makes electric cars quick off the mark.

Q172.Science & TechnologyMedium

A fuel cell electric vehicle, or FCEV, generates electricity on board from:

  1. A.Petrol burnt in a small generator
  2. B.Hydrogen combined with oxygen in a fuel cell
  3. C.Sunlight falling on body panels
  4. D.Compressed natural gas burnt in a turbine
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Hydrogen combined with oxygen in a fuel cell

A fuel cell is an electrochemical device, not an engine: hydrogen fed to the anode is split into protons and electrons, the protons cross a membrane, the electrons travel through the external circuit and do work, and at the cathode they recombine with oxygen from the air to form water.

Q174.Science & TechnologyMedium

In an electric vehicle, BMS stands for:

  1. A.Brake Monitoring Sensor
  2. B.Battery Management System
  3. C.Bharat Mobility Standard
  4. D.Basic Motor Switch
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Battery Management System

The BMS is the electronic brain of the pack. It measures the voltage, current and temperature of individual cells or groups of cells, balances their charge so that no cell is overworked, estimates the state of charge and state of health that the dashboard displays, and disconnects the pack when…

Q175.Science & TechnologyHard

In February 2023 the Geological Survey of India announced an estimated lithium resource in which district?

  1. A.Korba in Chhattisgarh
  2. B.Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir
  3. C.Nalgonda in Telangana
  4. D.Hassan in Karnataka
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir

The Geological Survey of India reported an inferred lithium resource in the Salal and Haimana area of that district, the first lithium find of real consequence in the country and a significant one because India had been importing virtually all its lithium and its cells.

Q176.Science & TechnologyMedium

The second phase of the FAME scheme came into effect from:
