The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for the development of lithium-ion batteries to:
- A.John Goodenough, Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino
- B.Alan Heeger, Alan MacDiarmid and Hideki Shirakawa
- C.Martin Karplus, Michael Levitt and Arieh Warshel
- D.Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer Doudna
