Defence GK Questions 2026

Static GK carries most of the General Knowledge marks in the defence exams, and science carries the largest share of it. In NDA & NA, Physics, Chemistry and General Science are about half of the 400 marks of Part B, and History, the freedom movement and Geography are about 20% each, as per the notice. In the CDS (II) 2026 General Knowledge paper, GK24 counted about 37 science questions, about 20 each on Polity and History, about 15 on Geography and environment and about 10 on the Economy; this count is guidance, not an official break-up. The Army's Agniveer CEE gives 15 of its 50 General Duty questions to General Knowledge and 15 to General Science, which covers cells, the human body, plants and animals and common epidemics. Its GK list names history, culture and geography of India and its neighbours, the Constitution, inventions and discoveries, books and authors, and the Indian Armed Forces. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes and GK questions tagged for NDA, CDS and Agniveer, in English and Hindi: General Science, Indian History, Art and Culture, Indian Polity, Geography, Indian Economy and Static GK. Read one topic at a sitting, then solve its questions and the previous-year questions of your exam to see what stayed with you.

Which of the following is the longest cell in the human body?

  1. A.Red blood cell
  2. B.Muscle cell
  3. C.Nerve cell
  4. D.Bone cell
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Nerve cell

A neuron carries a long process called an axon, which in a human being may run from the base of the spine to the toe, so a single nerve cell can be about a metre long; this length lets one cell carry an impulse over a great distance without any…

  1. A.Ligament
  2. B.Cartilage
  3. C.Tendon
  4. D.Areolar tissue
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Tendon

Which organelle is known as the suicide bag of the cell?

  1. A.Ribosome
  2. B.Lysosome
  3. C.Centrosome
  4. D.Vacuole
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Lysosome

A lysosome is a membrane-bound sac of powerful digestive enzymes that breaks down worn-out organelles and any foreign particle the cell takes in; if the cell is damaged or starving, the sacs burst and the same enzymes digest the cell itself, which is why the name suicide bag is used.

Which cell organelles have their own DNA and Ribosomes?

  1. A.Golgi body and Endoplasmic Reticulum
  2. B.Mitochondria and Plastids
  3. C.Lysosome and Golgi body
  4. D.Vacuole and Plastids
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Mitochondria and Plastids

Both carry a small circular DNA of their own and their own 70S ribosomes, so they make a part of their protein themselves and divide independently of the cell; this semi-autonomous nature is the main evidence for the view that they descend from free-living bacteria engulfed by an early cell.
