The Lucknow edition
A two-day state-level capacity-building and awareness programme under the campaign will be held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, by the ministry with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Day one turns on labour reforms, with a keynote address by the Secretary (Labour and Employment) and sessions on international labour mobility, social protection for unorganised and gig or platform workers, and work for Building and Other Construction Workers, known as BOCW. The Labour Minister of Uttar Pradesh is to address a session, followed by inputs from the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
The four Labour Codes
Day two deals with implementation, beginning with a breakdown of statutory compliance under all four Codes:
| Code on Wages | 2019 |
| Industrial Relations Code | 2020 |
| Code on Social Security | 2020 |
| Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code | 2020 |
Schemes and digital platforms
Presentations on day two cover the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana. The sessions also take up the use of technology for workers’ welfare through platforms such as e-Shram, the Shram Suvidha Portal, SAMADHAN and the Labour Stack, along with rollout strategies and good practice from the state government.
Child and bonded labour
The second day further covers strategies for the prevention of child labour, along with rescue, rehabilitation, district-level monitoring and the eradication of child and bonded labour. Structured open discussion sessions run across both days, giving participants and industry stakeholders a chance to raise operational concerns, regulatory compliance questions and practical queries.
