Kokila Judo Silver, Ravi Budigina Swim Silver for India

Two more silver medals came India's way at the Asian Para Games 2026 on 19 October 2026, one from the judo mat and one from the swimming pool. Kokila finished second in the women's J2 -52kg judo event, and Ravi K. Budigina took silver in the men's 100m freestyle S13 swimming event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated both athletes.

Judo: from bronze to silver in a new category

Kokila's medal carries a line of progress behind it. She had won a bronze at the previous edition of the Asian Para Games, and this time she stepped up to a silver while competing in a new category. Each para sport writes its classes in its own way. In para swimming the letter S marks the freestyle, backstroke and butterfly events, and the number names the sport class.
