Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal was the venue on 3 October 2026 for the Gaupalak Sammelan, which Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed. At the same programme he opened an exhibition, held at the level of the state, on the new criminal laws. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, Deputy Chief Ministers Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla, state ministers and a large gathering of milk producers attended.

Dairy projects launched

The foundation stone of a milk processing plant of 3 lakh litres a day at Ujjain, to be built at a cost of 255 crore rupees, was laid digitally. A product dairy plant of 40 thousand litres a day in Bhopal, costing about 16.5 crore rupees, and a state-level central laboratory built at 12.42 crore rupees were inaugurated, as were strengthening works at the mini dairy plant in Shivpuri costing 6.5 crore rupees.

Targets under White Revolution 2.0

Under White Revolution 2.0, the target is to set up 75 thousand new cooperative dairies in the country and strengthen 46 thousand existing ones. The Madhya Pradesh government's own target is to raise daily milk procurement in the state from 12 lakh to 52 lakh units. The Minister said the Centre would work alongside the state to reach it.

Exam Point of View

Remember the event and venue (Gaupalak Sammelan, Dussehra Maidan, Bhopal), the minister (Amit Shah, Cooperation), the Ujjain plant (3 lakh litres a day, 255 crore rupees), the White Revolution 2.0 targets (75 thousand new and 46 thousand strengthened dairies), the milk output figures (14.60 to 24.80 crore tonnes), per capita availability (307 to 485 grams) and dairy exports (4,666 crore rupees).

Practice Questions

Q1.Government SchemesMedium

Under White Revolution 2.0, how many new cooperative dairies are to be established in the country?

  1. A.25 thousand
  2. B.46 thousand
  3. C.75 thousand
  4. D.1 lakh
Show answer

Correct answer: C. 75 thousand

Explanation

The correct answer is 75 thousand. The target set under White Revolution 2.0 is to establish that many new cooperative dairies across the country, and alongside it to strengthen 46 thousand dairies that already exist. Madhya Pradesh is expected to see a large number of the new dairies, which is why the figure came up at a gathering of livestock rearers in Bhopal. Option B is wrong because it is the figure for existing dairies to be strengthened, not for new ones, and this pairing of two numbers in one scheme is the trap such questions are built on. Option A is wrong because it matches neither target. Option D is wrong because it rounds the target upward to a figure that was not announced. The practical way to revise the scheme is as a pair, with the larger number for new dairies to be created and the smaller one for dairies to be strengthened, both under the same programme.

Q2.Government SchemesMedium

The foundation stone of a milk processing plant of 3 lakh litres a day was laid in which city of Madhya Pradesh?

  1. A.Indore
  2. B.Ujjain
  3. C.Shivpuri
  4. D.Gwalior
Show answer

Correct answer: B. Ujjain

Explanation

The correct answer is Ujjain. The Union Cooperation Minister digitally laid the foundation stone of a milk processing plant of 3 lakh litres a day there, to be built at a cost of 255 crore rupees. Option A, Indore, is wrong, though candidates should note that livestock rearers of the Indore milk union did receive bonuses at the same programme, so the city figures in the announcement for a different reason. Option C, Shivpuri, is wrong because what was taken up there was the strengthening of an existing mini dairy plant, inaugurated digitally at the same event, rather than a new processing plant. Option D, Gwalior, is wrong because no project in that city was part of this set of announcements. When several projects in one state are announced together, the reliable method is to write each city beside its project and its cost, since questions frequently swap the cities while keeping the figures intact.

Q3.Government SchemesMedium

According to the figures given at the Gaupalak Sammelan, India's per capita milk availability has risen to how much a day?

  1. A.307 grams
  2. B.395 grams
  3. C.485 grams
  4. D.520 grams
Show answer

Correct answer: C. 485 grams

Explanation

The correct answer is 485 grams. Per capita milk availability in the country has risen by about 58 per cent, from around 307 grams a day in 2014-15 to about 485 grams a day at present, and India is now the world's largest milk producing country. Option A is wrong because it is the earlier figure and not the present one; a question that gives both years and asks for one of them is testing exactly this distinction. Options B and D are wrong because they are near misses on the current figure and do not match what was stated. The companion figures are worth revising in the same breath: total milk production has grown from about 14.60 crore tonnes in 2014-15 to about 24.80 crore tonnes, and dairy exports stand at about 4,666 crore rupees to countries including the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, the United States, Saudi Arabia and Bhutan.

Q4.Government SchemesHard

The memorandum of understanding exchanged at the Bhopal programme for developing an urban forest under the Morvan Project involved which cooperative organisation?

  1. A.KRIBHCO
  2. B.IFFCO
  3. C.NAFED
  4. D.NCDC
Show answer

Correct answer: A. KRIBHCO

Explanation

The correct answer is KRIBHCO. The memorandum of understanding for developing an urban forest in Bhopal under the Morvan Project was exchanged between KRIBHCO and the Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board during the programme. Option B, IFFCO, is a different fertiliser cooperative and was not party to this agreement, although the similarity of the two names makes it the most likely wrong answer to attract a candidate. Option C, NAFED, is the cooperative marketing federation for agricultural produce and had no role in this memorandum. Option D, the National Cooperative Development Corporation, finances cooperative development and was likewise not involved here. Two other cooperative details from the same event are worth noting together with this one: the Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited has been established for work in the dairy sector, and sanction letters were handed out under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana.
