With reference to 'National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF)', which of the statements given below is/are correct ? 1. Under NSQF, a learner can acquire the certification for competency only through formal learning. 2. An outcome expected from the implementation of NSQF is the mobility between vocational and general education. Select the correct answer using the code given below :

  1. A.1 only
  2. B.2 only
  3. C.Both 1 and 2
  4. D.Neither 1 nor 2

Correct answer

B. 2 only

Explanation

The correct answer is B, 2 only. The NSQF recognises skills learnt in any way, formal, non-formal or informal, and aims to let learners move between vocational and general education.

The National Skills Qualification Framework was notified in December 2013. It is a competency-based framework that arranges qualifications in levels, from 1 to 10, by the knowledge, skills and aptitude a learner has. A person can be certified at a level whether the skill came from a classroom, on-the-job training or years of informal work, which is the idea behind recognition of prior learning. Because vocational and academic qualifications are placed on the same levels, a learner can move from one stream to the other and earn credit for what is already done.

A is wrong because statement 1 is false: certification is not limited to formal learning. C is wrong for the same reason. D is wrong because statement 2 is true.

Exam tip: NSQF, 2013: ten levels, recognition of prior learning, and mobility between vocational and general education.

Show answer
Correct answer: B. GST was to be implemented on concurrent base and Article 246 was inadequate for such a case.

GST is levied by the Union and the States together on the same supply, and Article 246, which splits taxing powers between them through separate lists, did not allow such a concurrent tax.
