- A.Karnal
- B.Hisar
- C.Rohtak
- D.Kurukshetra
Correct answer
Explanation
The correct answer is B, Hisar. The agricultural university of Haryana was set up at Hisar soon after the state was formed and was later named after Chaudhary Charan Singh. It is counted among the largest agricultural universities in Asia and runs research stations across the state. Hisar also has the veterinary and animal sciences university and the Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, so it is the livestock and farm education centre of Haryana.
Option A, Karnal, carries the other cluster of institutes, the National Dairy Research Institute, the wheat and barley institute, the soil salinity institute and the animal genetic resources bureau, but not the agricultural university. Option C, Rohtak, is known for the Murrah buffalo tract and for a general university. Option D, Kurukshetra, has its own university and is a rice growing district.
