NDA GK Questions 2026

Static general knowledge makes up about 90% of Part B of the NDA General Ability Test, about 360 of its 400 marks. The NDA & NA (II) 2026 notice divides it into five sections: Physics (about 25%), Chemistry (about 15%), General Science (about 10%), History, Freedom Movement etc. (about 20%) and Geography (about 20%). Half of Part B is science. Physics covers matter, motion, gravitation, heat, sound, light, magnetism, electricity and the working of everyday devices such as the siphon, pressure cooker, periscope and safety fuse. Chemistry covers changes of matter, elements and compounds, common gases, acids, bases and salts, carbon, fertilizers and the materials used to make soap, glass, cement and gunpowder. General Science covers cells, the human body, diseases, diet, the solar system and eminent scientists. Section D spans Indian history and culture, the freedom movement, the Constitution, Five Year Plans, Panchayati Raj and world history from the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution. Geography covers the Earth, rocks, oceans, the atmosphere and climate, and India's resources, industries, ports and trade. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes for NDA, in English and Hindi, written as short facts and tables. Read a topic, then solve its quiz and previous-year questions on this site.

NDA GK Questions with Answers

Q4704.Science & TechnologyHard

The peak downlink data rate target set for 5G under IMT-2020 is:

  1. A.1 Gbps
  2. B.10 Gbps
  3. C.20 Gbps
  4. D.100 Gbps
Show answer
Correct answer: C. 20 Gbps

Under IMT-2020 the peak downlink data rate for 5G is set at 20 gigabits a second, with 10 gigabits a second in the uplink; these are laboratory peaks under ideal conditions, not the speed a subscriber sees, and the separate target for the user experienced rate is 100 megabits a…

Q4705.Science & TechnologyEasy

In 4G mobile networks, LTE stands for:

  1. A.Long Term Evolution
  2. B.Linear Transmission Encoding
  3. C.Low Traffic Ethernet
  4. D.Local Transfer Exchange
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Long Term Evolution

LTE is the radio technology through which 4G was delivered; the name was chosen because it was presented as the long-term evolution of the earlier 3G standards rather than a break with them.

Q4706.Science & TechnologyMedium

Which ITU standard family corresponds to 5G?

  1. A.IMT-2000
  2. B.IMT-Advanced
  3. C.IMT-2020
  4. D.IMT-2030
Show answer
Correct answer: C. IMT-2020

The International Telecommunication Union names each generation of mobile telephony by a standard family, and 5G is IMT-2020, whose requirements include a peak downlink rate of 20 Gbps, a user experienced rate of 100 Mbps, one millisecond of air interface latency and a million connected devices in a square kilometre.

Q4709.Environment & EcologyMedium

The half-life of iodine-131, the isotope released in reactor accidents, is about:

  1. A.8 hours
  2. B.8 days
  3. C.8 months
  4. D.8 years
Show answer
Correct answer: B. 8 days

Iodine-131 has a half-life of roughly eight days, which is why the danger from it after an accident is intense but short-lived, and why potassium iodide tablets are distributed at once so that the thyroid gland is saturated with ordinary iodine and absorbs less of the radioactive form.

Q4714.Environment & EcologyEasy

Which of the following is the largest source of thermal pollution of surface water?

  1. A.Cooling water from power stations
  2. B.Municipal sewage
  3. C.Agricultural run-off
  4. D.Plastic waste
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Cooling water from power stations

Thermal and nuclear power stations draw large volumes of water to condense steam and return it several degrees warmer, which makes them the single largest source of waste heat in rivers, lakes and coastal waters.

Q4715.Environment & EcologyMedium

The immediate harmful effect of thermal pollution on a water body is:

  1. A.A rise in the dissolved oxygen content
  2. B.A fall in the dissolved oxygen content
  3. C.A rise in the salinity of the water
  4. D.A fall in the pH to below 4
Show answer
Correct answer: B. A fall in the dissolved oxygen content

The solubility of a gas in water decreases as the temperature of the water rises, so hot water discharged from a power station holds less dissolved oxygen.

Q4719.Environment & EcologyAsked in: RRB JE · 22 May 2019, Shift 2Easy

Noise pollution is measured in -

  1. A.Ohm
  2. B.Decibel
  3. C.Joule
  4. D.Ampere
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Decibel

The decibel, written dB, is the unit in which the intensity level of sound is expressed, and it is named after Alexander Graham Bell.
