NDA GK Questions 2026

Static general knowledge makes up about 90% of Part B of the NDA General Ability Test, about 360 of its 400 marks. The NDA & NA (II) 2026 notice divides it into five sections: Physics (about 25%), Chemistry (about 15%), General Science (about 10%), History, Freedom Movement etc. (about 20%) and Geography (about 20%). Half of Part B is science. Physics covers matter, motion, gravitation, heat, sound, light, magnetism, electricity and the working of everyday devices such as the siphon, pressure cooker, periscope and safety fuse. Chemistry covers changes of matter, elements and compounds, common gases, acids, bases and salts, carbon, fertilizers and the materials used to make soap, glass, cement and gunpowder. General Science covers cells, the human body, diseases, diet, the solar system and eminent scientists. Section D spans Indian history and culture, the freedom movement, the Constitution, Five Year Plans, Panchayati Raj and world history from the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution. Geography covers the Earth, rocks, oceans, the atmosphere and climate, and India's resources, industries, ports and trade. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes for NDA, in English and Hindi, written as short facts and tables. Read a topic, then solve its quiz and previous-year questions on this site.

Which law/principle states that when a body is immersed fully or partially in a fluid, it experiences an upward force that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by it?

  1. A.Boyle's law
  2. B.Charles law
  3. C.Archimedes principle
  4. D.Pascal's law
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Archimedes principle

The principle says a body immersed wholly or partly in a fluid is pushed up by a force equal to the weight of the fluid it pushes aside, and that upward force is called buoyancy or upthrust.

The source of light for optic fibre transmission is _______.

  1. A.ARC lamp
  2. B.LED
  3. C.mercury lamp
  4. D.incandescent lamp
Show answer
Correct answer: B. LED

The transmitter of an optical fibre link must be small enough to couple light into a core a few micrometres across, must switch on and off millions or billions of times a second, and must emit in a narrow band of wavelengths; a light-emitting diode meets these conditions, and for…

Which of the following is used as a receiver for fibre optic communication?

  1. A.LED
  2. B.IR diode
  3. C.Photo diode
  4. D.LDR
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Photo diode

At the receiving end of an optical fibre link the light pulses must be turned back into an electrical signal, and that is the work of a photodiode, a reverse-biased junction in which incident photons generate charge carriers and so a current proportional to the light falling on it; PIN…
