CDS Current Affairs 2026

Current events are named in the CDS General Knowledge syllabus itself: the CDS (II) 2026 notice describes the paper as General Knowledge including knowledge of current events and of everyday matters in their scientific aspects, with questions on the History of India and Geography. In the 120-question paper of 13 September 2026, roughly 10 items were plainly current, among them the 2026 Padma awards, the 2026 International Booker Prize, an NDMA exercise and DRDO's Technology Development Fund, and another 6 or so asked about government schemes such as fisheries programmes and India's climate commitments. UPSC frames these as statement-based questions, so a candidate needs the detail behind the headline: which ministry runs a scheme, what a fund finances, which year's theme was announced. This page carries GK24's daily current affairs written for CDS from official releases, in English and Hindi, dated by the day the news was released. Read it daily, revise each month at its end, and keep a separate list of defence news: exercises, acquisitions, commissioning of ships and squadrons, and DRDO and ISRO launches, which the paper favours. Pair the reading with the quizzes on this site so that a fact read once is recalled twice before the exam.
