State Foundation Day Marked by Haryana, Chhattisgarh and MP

Three Indian states share the same founding anniversary, and all three observed it on 1 November 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent separate messages of greeting to the people of Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on their State Foundation Day, posting each of them on X. Haryana

The Prime Minister called Haryana a source of pride for the country, speaking of its glorious history, its valour and its rich cultural inheritance, and said its folk traditions and lively rural life have always added to the cultural wealth of India. He said the people of the state had proved their talent and resolve through sheer hard work across many fields, naming agriculture, sport, the defence services, industry, education and startups. The state's athletes, he said, are adding to the honour of the Tricolour, while its farmers are strengthening the food security of the country.

Chhattisgarh

In his message to Chhattisgarh, the Prime Minister pointed to the state's tribal culture, its natural wealth and its distinctive folk traditions, and said its archaeological heritage is a mark of its identity. The surroundings shaped by that living folk culture, he added, carry a warmth that draws everyone. He said it was heartening that the state was moving faster along the path of development even as the roots of Naxalism were being removed, and that its talented and hard-working people would keep contributing generously to the prosperity of the nation.

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister said, is a land of proud heritage, rich culture and striking natural beauty, and its heritage sites of world renown make its historical identity grander still. He said the people of the state had contributed notably in every field through their talent and enterprise, and that from agriculture, industry, tourism, education and infrastructure to innovation the state was reaching new milestones while playing an important part in building a self-reliant India.
