CTET GK Questions 2026

General knowledge is not a named section of CTET, but part of it sits inside two subjects. In Paper I, Environmental Studies has 30 questions: 15 on content and 15 on pedagogical issues. The content themes in the CTET September 2026 bulletin are Family and Friends (relationships, work and play, animals and plants), Food, Shelter, Water, Travel, and Things We Make and Do. In Paper II, Social Studies/Social Science has 60 questions: 40 on content from History, Geography and Social and Political Life, and 20 on pedagogy. Science in Paper II has 20 content questions on food, materials, the world of the living, how things work, natural phenomena and natural resources. The bulletin bases all of these on the NCERT syllabus, with difficulty up to the Secondary stage in Paper I and the Senior Secondary stage in Paper II. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes marked for CTET: geography, Indian history, Indian polity, general science, and environment and ecology, in English and Hindi. Use them as guidance to revise facts after reading the NCERT chapter, not in place of it. GK24 does not cover Child Development and Pedagogy, the languages, Mathematics or the pedagogy questions, which make up most of each paper.
