RRB JE GK Questions 2026

Static GK makes up most of the General Awareness syllabus of RRB JE, and General Science adds a larger block of its own. CEN 04/2026 lists Indian geography, the culture and history of India including the freedom struggle, Indian Polity and Constitution, the Indian Economy and environmental issues concerning India and the world. In CBT-1 these share 15 questions with current affairs, while General Science, which the CEN defines as Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences up to the 10th Standard CBSE syllabus, has 30 questions of its own. CBT-2 repeats the General Awareness syllabus in 15 questions and adds 15 on Physics and Chemistry, 10 on Basics of Computers and Applications and 10 on Basics of Environment and Pollution Control. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes for RRB JE: Polity, History, Geography, the Economy, Art and Culture, Environment and Ecology, General Science and Computer basics. Each note is a set of short facts and tables in English and Hindi that can be revised in one sitting. Read one topic, solve its quiz and previous-year questions, and return to it a week later. With 15 General Awareness questions spread over eight areas, breadth matters more than depth, while General Science rewards thorough revision of Class 10 concepts.

Q283.Computer AwarenessEasy

Which logic gate is also known as an inverter?

  1. A.AND gate
  2. B.OR gate
  3. C.NOT gate
  4. D.NAND gate
Show answer
Correct answer: C. NOT gate

It is the only gate that takes a single input, and it simply reverses the logic level it receives, giving 1 for an input of 0 and 0 for an input of 1; because the output is the inverse or complement of the input, the circuit is called an inverter.

A 'literal' in Boolean Algebra means

  1. A.A variable in its uncomplemented form only
  2. B.A variable or with its complement
  3. C.A variable in its complemented form only
  4. D.A variable in its complemented or uncomplemented form
Show answer
Correct answer: D. A variable in its complemented or uncomplemented form

In Boolean algebra a literal is any single appearance of a variable in an expression, whether it appears plain or with a bar over it.

Q287.Computer AwarenessEasy

The output of an XOR gate is 1 when

  1. A.Both inputs are 1
  2. B.Both inputs are 0
  3. C.The two inputs are different
  4. D.The two inputs are the same
Show answer
Correct answer: C. The two inputs are different

An exclusive OR gate is a difference detector: it gives 1 for the combinations 0 and 1 or 1 and 0, and gives 0 when the inputs agree.

According to De Morgan's theorem, the complement of the product of two variables A and B is equal to

  1. A.The product of the complements of A and B
  2. B.The sum of the complements of A and B
  3. C.The product of A and B itself
  4. D.Always equal to 1
Show answer
Correct answer: B. The sum of the complements of A and B

De Morgan's second theorem states that NOT of A AND B equals NOT A OR NOT B. The working rule is to break the bar and change the sign, so a dot under a complement becomes a plus once the complement is distributed over the variables.

Q289.Computer AwarenessEasy

Which of the following pairs is known as universal gates?

  1. A.AND and OR
  2. B.NAND and NOR
  3. C.XOR and XNOR
  4. D.NOT and AND
Show answer
Correct answer: B. NAND and NOR

Each of these gates alone is enough to build every other gate and so every logic circuit: a NAND with its two inputs tied together acts as a NOT, two NANDs in sequence give an AND, and a suitable arrangement of three gives an OR, and the same can be…

Which of the following are equal for a chemical system at equilibrium?

  1. A.The concentration of reactant and products
  2. B.The rate of the forward and reverse reactions
  3. C.The rate constants for the forward and reverse reactions
  4. D.Both 2 & 3
Show answer
Correct answer: B. The rate of the forward and reverse reactions

Chemical equilibrium is a dynamic state: both reactions go on, but at the same speed, so no net change is seen.

Q295.Science & TechnologyHard

At what rate did the trial generate secure keys, and what error rate did the link hold?

  1. A.230 to 260 bits per second, with error rate below 5%
  2. B.1,000 to 1,200 bits per second, with error rate below 2%
  3. C.50 to 80 bits per second, with error rate below 12%
  4. D.400 to 450 bits per second, with error rate below 8%
Show answer
Correct answer: A. 230 to 260 bits per second, with error rate below 5%

Both numbers describe the quality of the link: the key rate is how fast fresh secret material can be produced for encryption, and the error rate measures how often a photon is read wrongly, which in quantum key distribution also signals whether anyone has interfered with the channel.

Which three organisations jointly demonstrated India's first free-space Quantum Key Distribution link?

  1. A.ISRO, DRDO and IIT Bombay
  2. B.QNu Labs, BISAG-N and IIT Gandhinagar
  3. C.C-DOT, BEL and IISc Bengaluru
  4. D.BARC, TIFR and IIT Madras
Show answer
Correct answer: B. QNu Labs, BISAG-N and IIT Gandhinagar

QNu Labs supplied the hardware QKD device Armos, BISAG-N contributed the post-quantum cryptography platform Vedic Kavach along with one end of the link, and IIT Gandhinagar hosted the other end and provided the field setting.

Q299.General ScienceAsked in: SSC CGL · 3 March 2023Easy

Which law was studied in the year 1787, in which it was said that the volume of a gas increases with its absolute temperature and if its absolute temperature decreases, then its volume will decrease?

  1. A.Boyle’s law
  2. B.Dalton’s law
  3. C.Avogadro’s law
  4. D.Charles’s law
Show answer
Correct answer: D. Charles’s law

Charles’s law says that at constant pressure the volume of a fixed mass of gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, so V by T stays constant.

Which of the following laws deduces the expression for the force between two stationary point charges in vacuum or free space?

  1. A.Lenz’s Law
  2. B.Coulomb’s Law
  3. C.Gauss’ Law
  4. D.Ohm’s Law
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Coulomb’s Law

Coulomb’s law gives the force between two point charges at rest. It states that the force is directly proportional to the product of the two charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them, and acts along the line joining them.
