NDA GK Questions 2026

Static general knowledge makes up about 90% of Part B of the NDA General Ability Test, about 360 of its 400 marks. The NDA & NA (II) 2026 notice divides it into five sections: Physics (about 25%), Chemistry (about 15%), General Science (about 10%), History, Freedom Movement etc. (about 20%) and Geography (about 20%). Half of Part B is science. Physics covers matter, motion, gravitation, heat, sound, light, magnetism, electricity and the working of everyday devices such as the siphon, pressure cooker, periscope and safety fuse. Chemistry covers changes of matter, elements and compounds, common gases, acids, bases and salts, carbon, fertilizers and the materials used to make soap, glass, cement and gunpowder. General Science covers cells, the human body, diseases, diet, the solar system and eminent scientists. Section D spans Indian history and culture, the freedom movement, the Constitution, Five Year Plans, Panchayati Raj and world history from the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution. Geography covers the Earth, rocks, oceans, the atmosphere and climate, and India's resources, industries, ports and trade. Given below are the four cases in which certain heat transfer is taking place : 1. Ice is melting in a glass full of water 2. Water is boiling in an open container 3. A metal rod is heated in a furnace 4. A cup of coffee is allowed to cool on a table In which of the above cases, the Newton's Law of Cooling is applicable?

  1. A.1 only
  2. B.4 only
  3. C.1 and 4 only
  4. D.1, 2 and 3
Show answer
Correct answer: B. 4 only

Newton's law of cooling describes a hot body losing heat to cooler surroundings, which is exactly what a cup of coffee on a table does.

Q1324.GeographyAsked in: NDA · NDA-II 2025, GATHard

Consider the following statements with reference to sea waves : 1. The height of waves is determined by wind speed, wind duration, and fetch 2. The energy of a wave is proportional to the square of its height 3. Waves retain most of their energy as they travel across the deep ocean Which of the statements given above is/are correct ?

  1. A.1 only
  2. B.1 and 2 only
  3. C.2 and 3 only
  4. D.1, 2 and 3
Show answer
Correct answer: D. 1, 2 and 3

All three statements describe how ocean waves form and travel. Statement 1 is correct: wind-driven waves grow with the wind's speed, the length of time it blows and the fetch, the stretch of open water over which it blows.

Q1326.GeographyAsked in: NDA · NDA-II 2026, GATEasy

In the southern hemisphere, trade winds blow from:

  1. A.North-East to South-West
  2. B.South-East to North-West
  3. C.North-West to South-East
  4. D.South-West to North-East
Show answer
Correct answer: B. South-East to North-West

In the southern hemisphere the trade winds are the south-east trades, blowing from the subtropical high towards the equator and turned to their left by the Coriolis force.

Q1331.GeographyAsked in: NDA · NDA-I 2021, GATEasy

  2. B.2 and 3 only
  3. C.1 and 3 only
  4. D.1, 2 and 3
Show answer
Correct answer: D. 1, 2 and 3

Iceland's volcanic and tectonic activity gives it cheap geothermal energy, adds new land through eruptions and draws large numbers of tourists.

Q1332.General ScienceAsked in: NDA · NDA-II 2021, GATEasy

Fundamental laws of physics require

  1. A.conservation of energy and non-conservation of charge.
  2. B.conservation of charge and non-conservation of linear momentum.
  3. C.conservation of charge and non-conservation of energy.
  4. D.conservation of energy, momentum and charge.
Show answer
Correct answer: D. conservation of energy, momentum and charge.

In every isolated system these three quantities stay constant, and no known process has ever been found to break these laws.

  1. A.absorbs red and blue light while reflecting green light.
  2. B.absorbs green light only.
  3. C.absorbs green light while reflecting red and blue light.
  4. D.reflects red light and absorbs blue and green light.
Show answer
Correct answer: A. absorbs red and blue light while reflecting green light.

The green light that chlorophyll does not use is reflected back to our eyes, so leaves look green. White sunlight contains all the colours of the visible spectrum.

Q1337.General ScienceAsked in: NDA · NDA-I 2025, GATEasy

  2. B.Earth's rotational force
  3. C.Earth's revolution
  4. D.Greater gravitational force at the equator
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Earth's rotational force

The spin of the Earth throws the equatorial belt outward, so the planet bulges at the equator and is flattened at the poles.
