Chemistry covers changes of matter, elements and compounds, common gases, acids, bases and salts, carbon, fertilizers and the materials used to make soap, glass, cement and gunpowder. General Science covers cells, the human body, diseases, diet, the solar system and eminent scientists. Section D spans Indian history and culture, the freedom movement, the Constitution, Five Year Plans, Panchayati Raj and world history from the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution. In an electric circuit, a wire of resistance 10 Ω is used. If this wire is stretched to a length double of its original value, the current in the circuit would become :

  1. A.half of its original value.
  2. B.double of its original value.
  3. C.one-fourth of its original value.
  4. D.four times of its original value.
Show answer

In a solenoid, the current flowing through the wire is I and number of turns per unit length is n. This gives a magnetic field B inside the solenoid. If number of turns per unit length is increased to 2n, what will be the value of magnetic field in the solenoid ?

  1. A.B
  2. B.2B
  3. C.B/2
