NDA GK Questions 2026

Static general knowledge makes up about 90% of Part B of the NDA General Ability Test, about 360 of its 400 marks. The NDA & NA (II) 2026 notice divides it into five sections: Physics (about 25%), Chemistry (about 15%), General Science (about 10%), History, Freedom Movement etc. (about 20%) and Geography (about 20%). Half of Part B is science. Physics covers matter, motion, gravitation, heat, sound, light, magnetism, electricity and the working of everyday devices such as the siphon, pressure cooker, periscope and safety fuse. Chemistry covers changes of matter, elements and compounds, common gases, acids, bases and salts, carbon, fertilizers and the materials used to make soap, glass, cement and gunpowder. General Science covers cells, the human body, diseases, diet, the solar system and eminent scientists. Section D spans Indian history and culture, the freedom movement, the Constitution, Five Year Plans, Panchayati Raj and world history from the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution. Geography covers the Earth, rocks, oceans, the atmosphere and climate, and India's resources, industries, ports and trade. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes for NDA, in English and Hindi, written as short facts and tables. Read a topic, then solve its quiz and previous-year questions on this site.

NDA GK Questions with Answers

Q5701.Environment & EcologyMedium

Which is considered the single largest cause of the loss of biodiversity?

  1. A.Habitat loss and fragmentation
  2. B.Co-extinction
  3. C.Invasive alien species
  4. D.Over-exploitation
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Habitat loss and fragmentation

When forests are cleared, wetlands drained and grasslands ploughed, species lose the space they need, and the fragments that survive are often too small to support large animals or to allow populations to mix and breed.

Q5708.Environment & EcologyEasy

A biosphere reserve is divided into which three zones?

  1. A.Core, buffer and transition
  2. B.Core, sanctuary and park
  3. C.Inner, middle and outer
  4. D.Protected, restricted and open
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Core, buffer and transition

The core zone is legally protected and left undisturbed, with no human activity allowed. The buffer zone around it permits research, education and limited use of resources that does not damage the core.

Q5710.Environment & EcologyMedium

The Convention on Biological Diversity was signed at which conference?

  1. A.The Stockholm Conference of 1972
  2. B.The Earth Summit at Rio de Janeiro in 1992
  3. C.The Kyoto Conference of 1997
  4. D.The Ramsar Conference of 1971
Show answer
Correct answer: B. The Earth Summit at Rio de Janeiro in 1992

The Convention has three objectives: the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components, and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising from the use of genetic resources.

Q5713.DefenceMedium

The indigenous development of the 20 mK dilution refrigerator is aligned with which national mission?

  1. A.National Supercomputing Mission
  2. B.National Quantum Mission
  3. C.National Green Hydrogen Mission
  4. D.Deep Ocean Mission
Show answer
Correct answer: B. National Quantum Mission

A dilution refrigerator of the 20 mK class produces the ultra-cold millikelvin environment in which quantum computing platforms and related quantum technologies are operated and tested, so building one in India directly serves the quantum mission and strengthens capability in quantum technology, advanced cryogenics and strategic technologies.

Q5715.DefenceMedium

Under which DRDO scheme was the first high-value deep tech project agreement with a start-up signed for a 20 mK dilution refrigerator?

  1. A.Technology Development Fund
  2. B.Innovations for Defence Excellence
  3. C.Make-II Procedure
  4. D.Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Technology Development Fund

DRDO signed the agreement for an indigenous 20 mK dilution refrigerator with the start-up Zero mK India Private Limited under the TDF scheme, and it is the first high-value deep tech project agreement the scheme has supported.

Q5716.DefenceHard

Which of the following is NOT listed among the activities planned during this edition of Exercise VARUNA?

  1. A.Cross-deck visits
  2. B.Operational interactions
  3. C.Sporting engagements
  4. D.Submarine rescue certification
Show answer
Correct answer: D. Submarine rescue certification

What it does list are professional engagements in harbour and at sea of three kinds: cross-deck visits, in which sailors of one navy go aboard the other's ship; operational interactions, in which the two crews compare their drills and procedures; and sporting engagements between the ships' companies.

VARUNA is the naval exercise that India holds with the French Navy, and the supporting detail in this announcement points the same way, since the Indian ship has berthed at Toulon, a French port on the Mediterranean, for the harbour and sea phases of the exercise.

Q5719.Science & TechnologyHard

The RDI support is meant to take the OptoSAR technology through which readiness levels?

  1. A.TRL-1 to TRL-4
  2. B.TRL-3 to TRL-6
  3. C.TRL-6 to TRL-9
  4. D.TRL-4 to TRL-7
Show answer
Correct answer: C. TRL-6 to TRL-9

Technology Readiness Level is a scale for how far a technology has travelled from an idea towards routine use, and the stretch named here is the late one: a system already demonstrated in conditions close to the real environment has to be engineered, tested and validated until it is proven…

Q5720.Science & TechnologyEasy

The OptoSAR technology of GalaxEye brings together which two kinds of imaging?

  1. A.Synthetic Aperture Radar and electro-optical imaging
  2. B.LiDAR and thermal infrared imaging
  3. C.Hyperspectral imaging and radar altimetry
  4. D.Satellite navigation signals and sonar imaging
Show answer
Correct answer: A. Synthetic Aperture Radar and electro-optical imaging

The two are put on one platform because their weaknesses do not overlap: optical imaging gives rich visual detail but is defeated by cloud cover and by darkness, while radar works irrespective of daylight and can image through cloud.
