NDA GK Questions 2026

Static general knowledge makes up about 90% of Part B of the NDA General Ability Test, about 360 of its 400 marks. The NDA & NA (II) 2026 notice divides it into five sections: Physics (about 25%), Chemistry (about 15%), General Science (about 10%), History, Freedom Movement etc. (about 20%) and Geography (about 20%). Half of Part B is science. Physics covers matter, motion, gravitation, heat, sound, light, magnetism, electricity and the working of everyday devices such as the siphon, pressure cooker, periscope and safety fuse. Chemistry covers changes of matter, elements and compounds, common gases, acids, bases and salts, carbon, fertilizers and the materials used to make soap, glass, cement and gunpowder. General Science covers cells, the human body, diseases, diet, the solar system and eminent scientists. Section D spans Indian history and culture, the freedom movement, the Constitution, Five Year Plans, Panchayati Raj and world history from the Renaissance to the Russian Revolution. Geography covers the Earth, rocks, oceans, the atmosphere and climate, and India's resources, industries, ports and trade. The formation of a mirage on a hot road is caused by:

  1. A.Reflection from the road surface
  2. B.Dispersion of sunlight
  3. C.Total internal reflection after refraction in air layers
  4. D.Scattering by dust particles
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Total internal reflection after refraction in air layers

  1. A.Real, inverted and of the same size
  2. B.Virtual, erect and of the same size
  3. C.Virtual, erect and diminished
  4. D.Real, erect and magnified
Show answer

A ray of light travelling from a rarer medium to a denser medium:

  1. A.slows down and bends away from the normal
  2. B.slows down and bends towards the normal
  3. C.speeds up and bends away from the normal
  4. D.speeds up and bends towards the normal
Show answer
Correct answer: B. slows down and bends towards the normal

A denser medium has a higher refractive index, and the refractive index is the speed of light in vacuum divided by its speed in the medium, so light must travel more slowly inside it.

  2. B.Fullerenes
  3. C.Graphite
  4. D.Diamond
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Graphite
