Defence GK Questions 2026

Static GK carries most of the General Knowledge marks in the defence exams, and science carries the largest share of it. In NDA & NA, Physics, Chemistry and General Science are about half of the 400 marks of Part B, and History, the freedom movement and Geography are about 20% each, as per the notice. In the CDS (II) 2026 General Knowledge paper, GK24 counted about 37 science questions, about 20 each on Polity and History, about 15 on Geography and environment and about 10 on the Economy; this count is guidance, not an official break-up. The Army's Agniveer CEE gives 15 of its 50 General Duty questions to General Knowledge and 15 to General Science, which covers cells, the human body, plants and animals and common epidemics. Its GK list names history, culture and geography of India and its neighbours, the Constitution, inventions and discoveries, books and authors, and the Indian Armed Forces. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes and GK questions tagged for NDA, CDS and Agniveer, in English and Hindi: General Science, Indian History, Art and Culture, Indian Polity, Geography, Indian Economy and Static GK. Read one topic at a sitting, then solve its questions and the previous-year questions of your exam to see what stayed with you.

  2. B.7.5 degree W. Longitude
  3. C.75 degree E. Longitude
  4. D.75 degree W. Longitude
Show answer
Correct answer: A. 7.5 degree E. Longitude

Indian Standard Time is based on 82.5° E, and a place 5 hours behind lies 75° to the west of it, at 82.5° − 75° = 7.5° E. The Earth turns 360° in 24 hours, so local time changes by one hour for every 15° of longitude, or four minutes…

Three equal resistors are connected in parallel configuration in a closed electrical circuit. Then the total resistance in the circuit becomes

  1. A.one-third of the individual resistance.
  2. B.two-third of the individual resistance.
  3. C.equal to the individual resistance.
  4. D.three times of the individual resistance.
Show answer
Correct answer: A. one-third of the individual resistance.

For three equal resistors R in parallel, 1/Rp = 1/R + 1/R + 1/R = 3/R, so Rp = R/3.

Q1408.General ScienceAsked in: NDA · NDA-I 2023, GATHard

Sand falls vertically on a conveyor belt at a rate of 0.1 kg/s. In order to keep the belt moving at a uniform speed of 2 m/s, the force required to be applied on the belt is :

  1. A.0 N
  2. B.0.2 N
  3. C.1.0 N
  4. D.2.0 N
Show answer
Correct answer: B. 0.2 N

The force needed equals the rate at which the belt must give horizontal momentum to the falling sand: F = v × (dm/dt) = 2 × 0.1 = 0.2 N. Newton's second law, in its general form, says force equals the rate of change of momentum.

Q1412.General ScienceAsked in: NDA · NDA-I 2026, GATMedium

Consider the following statements in case of terrestrial planets : I. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are terrestrial planets having low densities as compared to other planets. II. They lie between the Sun and the belt of asteroids. III. Their lower gravity can hold the escaping gases. Which of the statements given above is/are correct?

  1. A.I and II
  2. B.II and III
  3. C.I and III
  4. D.II only
Show answer
Correct answer: D. II only
