Defence GK Questions 2026

Static GK carries most of the General Knowledge marks in the defence exams, and science carries the largest share of it. In NDA & NA, Physics, Chemistry and General Science are about half of the 400 marks of Part B, and History, the freedom movement and Geography are about 20% each, as per the notice. In the CDS (II) 2026 General Knowledge paper, GK24 counted about 37 science questions, about 20 each on Polity and History, about 15 on Geography and environment and about 10 on the Economy; this count is guidance, not an official break-up. The Army's Agniveer CEE gives 15 of its 50 General Duty questions to General Knowledge and 15 to General Science, which covers cells, the human body, plants and animals and common epidemics. Its GK list names history, culture and geography of India and its neighbours, the Constitution, inventions and discoveries, books and authors, and the Indian Armed Forces. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes and GK questions tagged for NDA, CDS and Agniveer, in English and Hindi: General Science, Indian History, Art and Culture, Indian Polity, Geography, Indian Economy and Static GK. Read one topic at a sitting, then solve its questions and the previous-year questions of your exam to see what stayed with you.

Q8202.General ScienceMedium

The mole is the SI base unit of which quantity?

  1. A.Mass
  2. B.Amount of substance
  3. C.Density
  4. D.Volume
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Amount of substance

The mole is the chemist's counting unit: one mole of any substance contains the Avogadro number of particles, about six followed by twenty-three zeros, whether those particles are atoms, molecules or ions.

Q8203.General ScienceEasy

Atmospheric pressure is measured by which instrument?

  1. A.Hygrometer
  2. B.Barometer
  3. C.Anemometer
  4. D.Lactometer
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Barometer

A barometer measures the pressure of the atmosphere, traditionally by balancing it against a column of mercury. It is also used for forecasting weather, because a sudden drop in pressure signals an approaching storm, and for finding altitude, since pressure falls as one rises.

Q8204.General ScienceHard

The dimensional formula of work is

  1. A.M L T⁻²
  2. B.M L² T⁻²
  3. C.M L² T⁻³
  4. D.M L⁻¹ T⁻²
Show answer
Correct answer: B. M L² T⁻²

Work is force multiplied by displacement. Force has the dimensions M L T⁻², and multiplying it by a length adds one more power of L, which gives M L² T⁻².

Q8205.General ScienceEasy

The SI unit of pressure is

  1. A.Newton
  2. B.Pascal
  3. C.Hertz
  4. D.Tesla
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Pascal

Pressure is force divided by area, so its unit is one newton per square metre, which is given the name pascal after Blaise Pascal.

Q8210.General ScienceEasy

What is the SI unit of force?

  1. A.Joule
  2. B.Newton
  3. C.Watt
  4. D.Pascal
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Newton

One newton is the force that gives a mass of one kilogram an acceleration of one metre per second squared, which follows directly from the equation force equals mass times acceleration.

Q8211.General ScienceAsked in: SSC CHSL · 14 Aug 2023, Shift 2Medium

The dimensions of force are:

  1. A.[M⁰ L³ T⁰]
  2. B.[M L⁻³ T⁰]
  3. C.[M⁰ L T⁻¹]
  4. D.[M L T⁻²]
Show answer
Correct answer: D. [M L T⁻²]

Newton's second law gives force = mass × acceleration. Mass has the dimension [M], and acceleration is velocity divided by time, that is [L T⁻¹] ÷ [T] = [L T⁻²].

Q8217.DefenceEasy

Exercise Veer Guardian 2026 concluded at which Indian Air Force station?

  1. A.Air Force Station Gwalior
  2. B.Air Force Station Jodhpur
  3. C.Air Force Station Kalaikunda
  4. D.Air Force Station Sulur
Show answer
Correct answer: B. Air Force Station Jodhpur

The Ministry of Defence stated that the bilateral air exercise between the Indian Air Force and the Japan Air Self Defense Force concluded at Air Force Station Jodhpur, and it was also at Jodhpur that the two air chiefs came for Distinguished Visitor's Day and flew the indigenous Tejas.
