India-Poland Trade Push: Jitin Prasada Visits Warsaw
Minister of State Jitin Prasada visited Poland on 2 and 3 November 2026 with 12 Indian companies, held three ministerial meetings and opened a forum in Warsaw.

Why in News
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced on 4 November 2026 that Minister of State Jitin Prasada had visited Poland on 2 and 3 November, holding three ministerial meetings and delivering the opening address at the India-Poland Business Forum in Warsaw.
India and Poland pushed their economic agenda forward as Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and for Electronics and Information Technology, spent two days in the European country at the head of a trade delegation. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on 4 November 2026 that the minister travelled on 2 and 3 November, with 12 Indian companies accompanying him.
Why the visit matters
The trip came soon after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk travelled to India in the previous month, so the two capitals have exchanged senior visits within weeks of each other. Both sides read this run of meetings as proof that the India-Poland Strategic Partnership, agreed in 2024 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his landmark trip to Poland, is being given working content rather than being left on paper.
Three ministerial meetings
Mr Prasada first sat down with Krzysztof Gawkowski, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs. Those talks ranged over artificial intelligence, semiconductors, data centres and cybersecurity. He then met Ignacy Niemczycki, Secretary of State in the Polish foreign ministry, where the subject was what the coming India-European Union Free Trade Agreement will open up; the Indian side pressed for work in agri-tech and food processing, and for a wider role for small and medium enterprises. A third meeting, with Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Technology Michal Baranowski, turned to critical minerals, semiconductors and start-up tie-ups, with India offering Make in India as the platform for joint development, joint manufacturing and transfer of technology.
Business Forum in Warsaw
On the second day the minister gave the opening address at the India-Poland Business Forum, hosted on the premises of the Polish National Chamber of Commerce, known by its Polish initials KIG, in Warsaw. He urged firms on both sides to use the trade agreement to widen market access and to build stronger partnerships. He also spoke to the Indian business community settled in Poland and to prospective Polish investors, and toured two companies that already have interests in India: Transition Technologies, which works in IT and software engineering, and the defence manufacturer WB Electronics.
