RRB Group D GK Questions 2026

Static GK is not a separate section in RRB Group D, but it decides most of the paper's recall marks. General Science is 25 questions of Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences at 10th standard (CBSE) level as per CEN 09/2025, and the 20 General Awareness questions lean on the standing facts behind the news: the sport, the award, the institution, the state, the river or the scientist an event touches. This page holds GK24's topic-wise GK notes for RRB Group D. The General Science notes go topic by topic through motion and force, work, energy and power, gravitation, heat, light, sound, electricity and magnetism, atomic structure and the periodic table, chemical reactions, acids, bases and salts, metals and non-metals, and carbon compounds, and the Life Sciences notes cover cells, the human body, nutrition, diseases, plants and genetics. The static GK notes cover Indian Railways zones and facts, national symbols, first and largest in India and the world, awards and honours, important days, books and authors, sports GK, art and culture, and the basics of Indian Polity, Geography, History and the Economy. Each note is short facts and tables that can be revised in one sitting. Read a note, then solve its quiz and the previous-year questions on this site to check what stayed.

Dinitrogen (N₂) and dioxygen (O₂) are the main constituents of air but they do not react with each other to form oxides of nitrogen because

  1. A.the reaction requires initiation by a catalyst
  2. B.oxides of nitrogen are unstable
  3. C.the reaction is endothermic and requires very high temperature
  4. D.the stoichiometry of N₂ and O₂ in air is not ideal for the reaction to take place
Show answer
Correct answer: C. the reaction is endothermic and requires very high temperature

Nitrogen and oxygen combine only when a lot of energy is supplied. The nitrogen molecule is held by a very strong triple bond, so breaking it takes much energy, and the reaction N₂ + O₂ → 2NO absorbs heat.

Q809.General ScienceAsked in: NDA · NDA-I 2023, GATMedium

A positive charge is moving towards south in a space where magnetic field is pointing in the north direction. The moving charge will experience :

  1. A.a deflecting force towards north direction.
  2. B.a deflecting force towards east direction.
  3. C.a deflecting force towards west direction.
  4. D.no deflecting force.
Show answer
Correct answer: D. no deflecting force.

The charge moves exactly opposite to the field, and a magnetic field exerts no force on a charge moving along its line.

Which one of the following about different frictional forces is correct?

  1. A.Kinetic friction > Static friction > Rolling friction
  2. B.Static friction > Rolling friction > Kinetic friction
  3. C.Static friction > Kinetic friction > Rolling friction
  4. D.Static friction > Kinetic friction = Rolling friction
Show answer
Correct answer: C. Static friction > Kinetic friction > Rolling friction

It takes most force to start an object moving, less to keep it sliding and least to keep it rolling.

Red blood cells (RBCs) have

  1. A.no nucleus, no mitochondria and no endoplasmic reticulum
  2. B.nucleus, mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum
  3. C.nucleus, mitochondria but no endoplasmic reticulum
  4. D.no mitochondria but endoplasmic reticulum is present
Show answer
Correct answer: A. no nucleus, no mitochondria and no endoplasmic reticulum

Mature human red blood cells lose these organelles as they develop. Red blood cells are made in the red bone marrow and push out their nucleus and other organelles before entering the blood.

A ball balanced on a vertical rod is an example of

  1. A.stable equilibrium
  2. B.unstable equilibrium
  3. C.neutral equilibrium
  4. D.perfect equilibrium
Show answer
Correct answer: B. unstable equilibrium

The slightest push makes the ball fall off and it does not come back. A body is in unstable equilibrium when a small displacement lowers its centre of gravity, so the forces acting on it move it further away instead of back.

Which one of the following statements regarding simple pendulum is correct? Simple pendulum has a time period independent of amplitude :

  1. A.only for small amplitudes because then the net force on its bob is independent of its displacement.
  2. B.for any amplitude because the net force on the bob is always proportional to its displacement.
  3. C.for any amplitude because the net force on the bob is independent of its displacement.
  4. D.only for small amplitudes because then the net force on its bob is proportional to its displacement.
Show answer
Correct answer: D. only for small amplitudes because then the net force on its bob is proportional to its displacement.

The restoring force on the bob is mg sin θ. For small angles sin θ is almost equal to θ, so the force becomes proportional to the displacement and points back towards the mean position.

Q819.General ScienceAsked in: NDA · NDA-II 2024, GATEasy

Which one among the following is correct for a person suffering from myopia?

  1. A.The person can see near objects clearly
  2. B.The person can see distant objects clearly
  3. C.The person cannot distinguish colours
  4. D.The person can neither see near objects nor distant objects clearly
Show answer
Correct answer: A. The person can see near objects clearly

Myopia is short-sightedness: near objects look sharp but distant ones look blurred. In a myopic eye the eyeball is too long or the eye lens is too curved, so light from a distant object comes to a focus in front of the retina instead of on it.
