Haryana GK is the state section of HSSC and HPSC papers, and a large share of the common eligibility test. The course begins with geography: the location and physical divisions of Haryana, its rivers, lakes and wetlands, climate, soils and forests, national parks and sanctuaries, agriculture and the Green Revolution, livestock and the Murrah buffalo, canals and the SYL, industries and the population and sex ratio.
History runs from Rakhigarhi, Kurukshetra and the Vedic age through the battles of Tarain and Panipat, the medieval and modern periods and 1857 to the formation of Haryana in 1966. Culture covers monuments, the Surajkund Mela and Gita Jayanti, folk music, dance and Saang, the Haryanvi language, customs and the state's sportspersons. The last topics cover the Governor, the Vidhan Sabha, the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the commissions, Panchayati Raj, the budget and the state's schemes.
Every topic is a short note in English and Hindi with practice questions. Read the topics in order, one a day, take each quiz and revise the ones you get wrong.
