Vigilance Awareness Week 2026: Probity for Prosperity Theme
The Central Vigilance Commission is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from 26 October to 1 November 2026 on the theme Probity for Prosperity.

Why in News
Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 began on 27 October 2026 with the integrity pledge at the Central Vigilance Commission, and the week is being observed from 26 October to 1 November 2026 on the theme Probity for Prosperity.
The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) began its annual Vigilance Awareness Week on 27 October 2026 by administering the integrity pledge to its own officers and staff. The pledge was taken at 11 am at Satarkata Bhawan in New Delhi and was administered by Shri A. S. Rajeev, the Central Vigilance Commissioner, along with Shri Praveen Vashista, Vigilance Commissioner.
Dates and theme
The week is being observed from 26 October to 1 November 2026. Its theme this year is Probity for Prosperity, written in Hindi as Satyanishtha se Samriddhi. The wording links honest conduct in public office to the prosperity of the country, which is the message the Commission wants carried into every government office during the week.
A three-month preventive campaign
The Commission has not limited the effort to one week. It has advised every ministry, department and organisation of the Central Government to run a preventive vigilance campaign of three months, from 17 August to 16 November 2026. Five focus areas have been prescribed for that campaign:
- disposal of complaints that are still pending;
- disposal of cases that are still pending;
- capacity building programmes for officials;
- digital initiatives in vigilance administration; and
- contract management.
The Commission expects this longer campaign, rather than the observance alone, to leave a lasting mark on vigilance administration, because pending complaints and pending cases are cleared and systems are strengthened while attention is high.
Workshop on technology
As part of the week the Commission has arranged a one-day workshop on 30 October 2026 on the subject Transformation Through Technology. The choice of subject sits with the digital initiatives named among the focus areas of the preventive campaign.
For the exam
Three details from this observance are the ones usually asked: the theme in both languages, the exact span of the week, and the name of the Central Vigilance Commissioner who administers the integrity pledge. Note also that the Commission works under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions for the purpose of such announcements, and that its office in New Delhi is called Satarkata Bhawan.
