Nasha Mukt Yuva Viksit Bharat Quiz on MY Bharat Portal

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has thrown open an online quiz called the Nasha Mukt Yuva, Viksit Bharat Quiz under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA). It is open to every citizen and runs from 26 October to 25 November 2026 on the MY Bharat portal, which the ministry is using to turn an awareness message into something a young person actually plays.

How the quiz works

Everyone who submits the quiz is given a participation certificate, and the correct answers are shown once it is over, so a participant who guessed wrong still walks away with the information the campaign wants to spread.

The campaign behind it

The Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was launched on 15 August 2020 to cut the demand for drugs through preventive education, awareness, treatment, rehabilitation and community participation. It began in 272 districts identified as the most vulnerable and has since been extended to every district in the country. The campaign is now in its seventh year.

How far it has reached

• More than 35 crore people reached in all.
• Among them 13 crore young people.
• Among them 10 crore women.

Why a quiz, and why now

The ministry's argument is that a drug-free India cannot be built by orders and seizures alone; it needs people who understand what substance use does and who choose otherwise. A short online test, the ministry says, deepens that understanding, encourages informed choices and recruits young people as carriers of the message rather than as its audience. The quiz is meant to work as an easy digital doorway into the aims of the campaign, and the ministry is asking citizens to take it and join what it calls a collective movement towards a drug-free country. The initiative also sits with the broader slogan of a Viksit Bharat, on the reasoning that healthy individuals, families and communities are a condition for the country's development rather than a by-product of it.
