CTET Current Affairs Quiz: 27 October 2026

The Ministry of Education announced that the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 had been certified by Guinness World Records under exactly this category, on the strength of 2,87,967 project entries sent in by school pupils from across the country through the Idea Track and the Prototype Track.

The day falls on the birth anniversary of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, and the Government of India designated it as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in 2021.

The agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the Bibliotheque nationale de France was signed in Paris on 26 October 2026 under this mission, which is the Ministry's flagship initiative for India's manuscript heritage.

The two-day forum opened there on 27 October 2026 and is organised by ICLEI South Asia with the National Institute of Urban Affairs, with support from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

This is the count of project submissions the Buildathon received from schools across India, taking the Idea Track and the Prototype Track together, and it is the figure on which the Guinness World Records certification as the Largest Innovation Solution Competition rests.

The Government designated 15 November as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in 2021 to commemorate his birth anniversary, and his 150th birth anniversary was observed as Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh in 2024-25 with over 28 national events, more than 2 lakh activities and above 3.8 crore participants.

He signed and exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding in Paris on 26 October 2026 with Gilles Pecout, President of the Bibliotheque nationale de France.

The Delhi Declaration on Local Action for Global Climate Goals 2026 is the outcome document of the forum, and it will be adopted on 28 October 2026 before being carried to the climate conference at Antalya.

The Buildathon was organised by the Department of School Education and Literacy in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and AICTE, whose chairman Prof. T. G. Sitharam is among those attending the felicitation ceremony.

The Jan-HIT Portal, which stands for Janjatiya Health Intelligence and Technology, has been developed with ICMR and is described as the country’s first platform for tribe-disaggregated health data, covering 20 States.

The agreement provides for an exchange of expertise in digitisation and preservation technologies, cataloguing standards, optical character recognition and handwritten text recognition tools for Indian scripts, digital humanities and manuscript conservation.

It was launched during the inaugural and technical sessions on the first day of the forum.

More than 300 projects for tribal communities across States will be taken up on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, with 228 ready to be inaugurated and 74 awaiting foundation stones.
