The ships listed for the maiden BIMSTEC Maritime Security Exercise were INS Taragiri, INS Karmuk and INS Saryu from the Indian Navy, UMS King Aung Zeya from the Myanmar Navy and SLNS Gajabahu from the Sri Lanka Navy; the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was not among them.

The exercise focused on improving interoperability and mutual understanding in planning and conducting combined HADR operations, with particular emphasis on joint amphibious operations, in which forces move from ships to the shore.

While presenting the President's Colour to the Uttarakhand Police in Dehradun on 6 November 2026, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the force had secured the top position at the national level with an outstanding score of 93.46 on the CCTNS/ICJS 2.0 dashboard.
